Progress Homeschool (homeschoolthai.com) cares about the personal data of families and children. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) (PDPA).
1. Data we collect
- General visitors: No personal information is required. We count visitors without cookies and without storing IP addresses (see our Cookie Policy), and record only total counts per country. The country is determined from the IP address at the time of the visit using the IP Geolocation by DB-IP database on our own server.
- Community members: Parent's email, password (stored encrypted and cannot be read back), display name, the province and family introduction you choose to add, photos, posts, comments, likes, and friends list.
- Photos: The system always removes location (GPS) data and camera data embedded in image files before storing them.
- Security data: IP addresses are used temporarily to prevent password guessing and spam, and are deleted automatically within 1 day.
2. Family accounts and children's data
The community uses family accounts. A parent signs up for and manages the account, and decides whether to post their children's information or photos. We recommend choosing the “Friends only” or “Members only” audience for photos that show a child's face, and not posting a child's real name, address, or school. Community pages are set so that search engines (such as Google) do not show them in search results.
3. AI assistant “Progress Buddy”
The messages you type to the AI assistant are sent to Anthropic (the provider of the Claude model) for processing to generate answers, under Anthropic's API terms of service. We do not store conversation content on our server. We record only the number of messages and total daily usage, to control costs. Please do not type personal information such as real names, addresses, phone numbers, or health information into the chat.
4. How we use data
- To provide the community service, such as showing posts, sending notifications, and the friends system
- To keep the community safe and review reports of inappropriate content
- To improve the website using anonymous visitor statistics
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with others for marketing. Data is stored on the servers of the website's hosting provider.
5. How long we keep data
We keep member data for as long as you remain a member. You can delete your own posts and comments at any time. When you request account deletion, the system deletes all posts, photos, comments, and friend connections of that account.
6. Your rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of the use of your personal data, or to object to its use, and you may withdraw your consent at any time. You can edit your profile information yourself on the settings page in the community.
